Gianforte School of Computing Travel Opportunities

  • Since 2012, we regularly sponsor students to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference.  In 2023, 8 students attended the national conference in Orlando with staff leader Shane Blanchard and faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • In 2022, 3 students attended the Rocky Mountain Celebration of Women in Computing Conference in Boulder, Colorado with faculty leader Lucy Williams.
  • Since 2016, we regularly sponsor LGBT+ students to attend the oSTEM Conference.  In 2023,  12 students attended the national conference in Anaheim with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • We periodically sponsor students to attend the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference.  Four students attended the September 2020 virtual conference.  More information.
  • Every three years, we provide partial support for students to participate in a summer study abroad trip.  In 2023, 11 MSU students traveled to Berlin, Germany with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
  • Since 2015, we regularly sponsor students to visit an out-of-state high-tech hub to learn more about career opportunities, build community and take advantage of cultural opportunities.  In 2022, 8 students traveled to Seattle with faculty leader John Paxton.  More information.
